Janice M. Royal, M.A., is the founder and president of Royal College Consulting. For nearly 15 years, she has provided personalized college planning and admissions guidance to students and families. Working entirely online, she serves students nationwide and guides families through academic planning, college exploration, college-list development, applications, and essays.

Janice works with a wide range of learners and has particular expertise supporting students with learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and other learning differences. Approximately one-third of the students in her practice are neurodivergent. Her commitment to this work is both professional and personal: her path to college counseling was inspired in part by her experience supporting her younger daughter after she received an autism spectrum diagnosis.

Janice earned a B.A. in American Studies, summa cum laude, from California State University, Long Beach, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She attended Claremont Graduate University on a full-tuition scholarship and earned an M.A. in American Studies. She also holds a College Counseling Certificate from the University of California, Riverside.

A Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, Janice is also a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling, the National Association of Christian College Admissions Professionals, and the Learning Disabilities Association of America. She serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors and chair of the Advancement Committee at The Prentice School, a K-8 school for students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other language-based learning disabilities. Janice has personally visited more than 400 colleges and universities across the country.
